Walmart Winter and Spring Beauty Box

When comes to beauty subscriptions, Walmart does things a little differently. They offer a seasonal box, for the cost of shipping and handling. You will receive 4 boxes a year priced at $5.00 USD each. Every summer, spring, winter, and Fall I am automatically billed for a box filled with affordable and practical beauty items that are well worth the cost.

If you are interested in subscribing here is the link (This is not an affiliate link).

I have few subscriptions right now and honestly, I seem to use the Walmart items pretty quickly.

I recently went to the Dominican Republic & Disney World for work. The Walmart Beauty box products came in handy during both trips.

I’ll start with Winter Box since those products are well on their way to the recycle center. Lol

The theme was Treat Yourself this Season with Beauty.

Ponds: Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream. Full-size 7 ounces for $8.97 USD.

What it is: A collagen based anti-wrinkle cream for moisturizing and rejuvenating your skin. Can be used day or night.

Review: The scent is a little overpowering. The cream is on the lighter side. I do feel a tightness when it’s on but haven’t noticed any changes in my fine lines and wrinkles. It does brighten and provides moisture, as promised. It’s also a bit greasy with mineral oil as an ingredient, if you are acne prone I wouldn’t recommend. I won’t purchase this again.

Aveeno: Active Naturals Daily Moisturizing Body Yogurt in the scent Vanilla and Oats. Full-size 7 ounces for $7.97 USD.

What it is: Body Moisturizer with oatmeal and yogurt to Moisturizer and nourish the skin for up to 48 hours.

Review: Even though I am not a fan of vanilla scented products, this smelled light and clean. It has a rich creamy texture and worked wonders on my extremities after 12 hours of sun. It’s effective and affordable and I would definitely recommend and re-purchase.

Curel: Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer. Full-size 8 ounces for $7.96 USD.

What it is: Body Moisturizer that is activated by water on freshly cleansed skin. Penetrates deep into the surface to hydrate skin. Applied after washing in the the shower. No rinsing, just towel dry after application.

Review: I’m not really a fan of in-shower products like this because I always worry about the transfer from my towel to places like my hair. I will say it saves time and it is convenient. It does moisturize the skin and stays put even after towel drying but I definitely feel the need to apply more product than I would with a good old-fashion lotion. I probably won’t purchase this again but I will continue to use this one up.

Covergirl: LashBlast Volume Mascare in the shade 825-Very Black. Full-size 0.44 ounces for $6.92 USD.

What it is: A volumizing waterproof black mascara.

Review: I absolutely love the wand on this mascara because it separates each lash perfectly. The pigment is really dark and it is smudge proof. My eyes are so watery that I can’t even mess with a non-waterproof mascara. You get volume and a little length. It’s definitely worth the price if you like this kind of wand.

Ken Paves- Smoothing Shampoo: Full-size 8.5 ounces for $21.62

What it is: Anti-Frizz, smoothing, and color protectant shampoo.

Review: This has to be one of the worst shampoos I’ve tried. It doesn’t lather very well so you need a lot of product. It smells loudly like medicine. My hair didn’t feel clean at all, but most of all it weighed my hair down like jelly. Definitely not worth the price.

Smoothing Conditioner: Full-size 8.5 ounces for $26.18 USD.

What it is: A hair conditioner that moisturizes, detangles, adds shine, improves humidity resistance, and controls frizz.

Review: Same awful scent as the accompanying shampoo. It does detangle but made my hair too soft and unmanageable. No Frizz but tons of static. Again, not worth the price.

Thick Conditioning Mask: Full-size 5.5 ounces for $17.98 USD.

What it is: A deep conditioning hair mask that moisturizes, strengthens, and balances the PH for oily and/or dry scalp.

Review: Smelled slightly better. Was more like a glorified conditioner versus a mask. Does essentially the same as the conditioner. This is not made for fine hair!!

Let’s move on to the Spring Beauty Box.

The Theme was Embrace Your Beauty.

Colgate Optic White Beauty Radiant Icy Mint Anticavity Flouride Toothpaste: Full-size 3 ounces for $6.96 USD.

What it is: Whitens teeth inside and out with hydrogen peroxide. Enamel safe for daily use.

Review: I love the icy mint taste and super clean feeling after brushing with Optic White. I surprised at the small amount needed to brush. It has made my teeth slightly whiter but I have been using it for months. I actually went through the sample and re-purchased a full-size.

Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair with Liquid Keratin Ultimate Repair Shampoo: Full-size 25.4 ounces for $7.97 USD.

What it is: Shampoo designed for extreme damage Repair, protection, and shine. Contains 3x liquid Keratin.

Review: This smells exactly like black licorice, not my favorite and a tad overpowering. It lathers well. I don’t have much damage to my hair so the Keratin was a bit much. Made my hair way too soft and super staticky. I did like the shine it gave my hair. I think this would work really well for extremely damaged hair.

Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair With Liquid Keratin Ultimate Repair Conditioner: Full-size 25.4 ounces for $7.97 USD.

What it is: A hair conditioner that strengthens, adds shine, and reconstructs.

Review: This has a very similar loud scent as the shampoo. I do like this better than the shampoo because it’s not too thick or heavy for fine hair. It’s great at untangling and adding shine. I haven’t noticed any changes with breakage.

Jergens Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer for Fair to Medium Skin Tones: Full-size 7.5 ounces for $8.64 USD.

What it is: An in-shower and no rinse self-tanning moisturizer that is applied to clean wet skin for subtle color.

Review: This is by far the best in shower self-tanner. The scent is nice and not overpowering like some tanners. After 3 days of use, I had the perfect natural tan with no tan lines. It blends so well that it amazes me. It’s convenient to lather on after showering and pat dry. People actually think I’m tan from vacation that’s how natural it looks. I totally recommend this if you haven’t tried it already.

Soo Ae Nature Vitamin Essence Collagen Mask: Full-size 1 sheet mask for $2.94 USD.

What it is: A single use sheet mask the moisturizes and nourishes the skin with vitamins.

Review: The scent was mild and clean. The fit was a little big for me. I did have a little trouble getting it to stay put. There was so much essence that I used the remainder 2 days later. It had a nice cooling effect that was relaxing. I did notice my skin was more supple and less dry but it doesn’t last for more than a day or two. Overall it was okay.

Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant 60 Second In-Shower Facial: Full-size 5 ounces for $6.72 USD.

What it is: In-shower facial cleanser that uses the steam to help exfoliate dead skin for radiant/glowing skin.

Review: This was a one time use packet so I honestly can’t give you guys a full review but I will tell you that I enjoyed the convenience of it. It smells clean like most Aveeno products. You apply to a dampened face and leave on for 60 seconds and start massaging in a circular motion. It’s a thicker cream texture making it easy to apply in the shower. There is a bit of a minty tingle and contained little exfoliating beads. The tingling could be a problem for sensitive skin. My face felt clean, smooth and slightly brighter. It lasted about 2 days. Its a cheap, effective, and convenient way for a quick facial exfoliation.

Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Overnight Hydrating Facial Moisturizer: Full-size 17 ounces for $15.03 USD.

What it is: A non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic night time facial moisturizer that hydrates, rejuvenates and nourishes the skin.

Review: The name suggest a heavy night cream and in fact it’s the opposite, it’s more like a thin gel-type texture. It has a sheen to it that makes it pretty and the same mildly clean scent as the facial. I didn’t have any tingling and my skin seemed to drink this right up. It didn’t feel oily or tacky at all and more importantly I did not wake up with an oily face. I actually liked this moisturizer more than I expected. The price is reasonable for 17 ounces and only a small amount is required so it will last a long time. This is on my purchase list.

What it is: A coconut oil based facial moisturizer that provides 24 hour moisture.
Review: I’m not a fan of putting oils on my face but for the sake of blogging I took one for the team. This applied more like a dry oil, thank goodness. It soaks in fairly quick without an oily residue. When I woke up the next morning, I didn’t feel oily,  my face was soft, and definitely moisturized. I’m not sure how this works under makeup because I’ve only used it at night but based on how it applied, I think it would be ok.
Walmart’s Beauty Box is the most practical, in my opinion. I use 90% of the products.
