26 Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks Review & Swatch

Hope you all had a lovely weekend! As soon as I heard about the UD Vice drop, I set an alert in my phone for the release. Here is the breakdown; 100 shades in 6 finishes available at Urban Decay online, Sephora, and Ulta. Of course I don’t have them all but I do have 26 shades to show you.

A lot of the shades are sold out but a little bird at Ulta told me they were re-stocking this Thursday. I have no idea when Sephora plans to re-stock but they were given 20 exclusive shades that no other store will carry.

What it is:
An innovative lip formula, now in an array of shades and finishes—encased in a sleek, faceted case.

What it does:
Get unbelievable laydown of color with just one swipe of Vice Lipstick. It features an array of addictive shades and six indulgent finishes—including 20 shades that are Sephora exclusives, in shades that range from bold brights to dark hues to versatile neutrals. Each shade applies smoothly (without dragging or skipping), hugs lips, and feels ultra-comfortable. Urban Decay’s proprietary Pigment Infusion System™ gives the formula its super-creamy texture, rich payout, and superior color dispersion.

This creamy formula is packed with nourishing ingredients. A butter blend comforts, hydrates, and enhances, leaving lips soft and conditioned, and never dry. Aloe vera, jojoba, avocado, and babassu oils nourish and soften lips. Illipe butter, derived from Malaysian illipe trees, provides long-lasting moisture, while the vitamins C and E deliver a hint of antioxidants.

Here are the finishes:

  1. Mega Matte: super intense matte
  2. Comfort Matte: creamy matte
  3. Cream: The original creamy formula
  4. Metallized: cream with a high level of pearl
  5. Sheer: a punch of color with sheer, shiny finish
  6. Sheer Shimmer: slightly transparent with floating pearl and smooth texture

Let’s get to the lip swatches. I will break it down by formula. Also please excuse the sloppiness in application. I did exfoliate but did not use a lip liner because I just wanted to get this post done so some swatches look ok and some swatches suck but at least there are 26 lip swatches for you. lol

My Impresion: As with all brands the formula feels different depending on the shade. Some of the mattes were more comfortable than others and the same with the creams. The sheers were pretty consistent across the board. She sheers are my favorite as far as comfort. Some of the creams were a little patchy especially the lighter shades. Overall, I really liked the UD Vice lipsticks and I would definitely purchase more but right now I am overloaded.

I love all the sheers except snitch because the formula was patchy in comparison. Oddly enough I liked the Mega Matte in Pandemonium versus any of the comfort mattes. The shocker was Psycho!! It’s a comfort matte (not my fav) but something about the fuchsia with blue sparkle shift just makes my heart race….uhhhm yeah Psycho is a perfect name. I love Peyote and Amulet in the Metallized formula. All of the creams were great except Naked, Native, and EZ all for the same reason (inconsistent, patchy formula).

My lips hurt like hell and I’m still recovering from yesterday’s photo shoot. 26 lipsticks is the most I’ve ever done in one session.

  1. I LOVE that you did this. So. Many. Swatches. haha. But; it is nice seeing them all swatched on a real person as opposed to an impossibly perfect, overly edited ‘pout’. I can actually tell which ones I truly might like this way.

    1. Thank you! I agree I think it’s the only way to really know what looks nice or what shade you like. It was a pain, but I was sick of arm swatches and I spent so much $$ that I figured I would force myself to wear them all. Haha

      1. haha. I know, I hear ya. If I purchase a lipcolor of any sort on my own I will do all of the swatches but I often tend to stick to arm swatches on sub box shades that are not for me…simply b/c I do not like seeing myself in them! lol Yours was perfect and I totally know what a pain it was!

      2. Exactly!! I do the same. It’s rarely a shade that I like in a sub box. I did like Kimchi on everyone else. Lol. Omg, I’m glad you think they are perfect but the side pics are because the swatch so terrible from the from view. Haha

    1. Thank you. I won’t be doing it again until I forget how sore my lips were. Lol. Blackmail kinda surprised me. I really didn’t like how the product looked but once I put it on, it was pretty nice.

  2. I saw another blogger do 20+ lip swatches too – that’s NUTS. Your poor POOR LIPS! 😮 Did you BUY all of these lipsticks?!!
But yay for me so I can see the colours and finishes without leaving the comfort of my chair! 😆
My favourites on you are: Sheer Anarchy, Big Bang, Rapture (duh of course, I have this one! from their old formula), Jilted, Backtalk and Psycho!
Thanks for this – I hope your lips are getting some TLC today.

    1. Omg you are on point girl….all my faves summed up!!! Good eye!! This is the first and last time I will do that many swatches. Lol. No i couldn’t afford 26. Lol. I own 10 the rest were samples. I’m sad to say Native is the only regret purchase. My fav is probably Ravensnwood which I didn’t have with me at the time. The sheers were all pretty good except naked looked like lip gloss.
