Before I get into the unboxing I have a little shout out to do. Jessica from BeYOUtiful-Beauty (love the name) is a blogger filled with positivity and featured me in her Self Love Saturday Series. Go check out her blog she is amazing!! I apologize for the late post. I was missing an item from April’s Glossybox and it was resolved promptly by the excellent customer service at Glossybox. Better late than never so here it goes
Every month Glossybox sends me 5 beauty products including niche, high-end, and emerging brands. The products are housed in a beautifully packaged reusable box for $21/month. I really can’t say enough about the how pretty the packaging is. Inside is a folded card describing each product and offering tips, tricks or tidbits which is convenient and sometimes fascinating. If you love luxury products and super cute packaging you can subscribe here.
April’s box was the traditional pink box with the products neatly wrapped in pink tissue paper and tied with classic black ribbon. Occasionally they do have themed boxes, especially for holidays or special events. Of the three monthly subscriptions that I get, Glossybox is definitely the one I look forward to the most. I’m not sure if it’s because you get what you pay for or the packaging. Packaging gets me every time! Glossybox has introduced me to so many emerging brands. They also send a lot of brands that I already know & love. They do send full-sized items but usually at least 3 are sample or deluxe size. This month 3/5 were full-size so I was quite happy with that.
Glossybox April 2016 Overview:
Unami Dermo Defense Face Mask in full-size $18 USD
Gel consistent masks are not typically my favorite but I am really enjoying this one so far. It applies easily, smells good, rinsed easily and provides added moisture.
Tidbit: Masking 1-2 times a week can actually help your skin to fully absorb your daily products more efficiently.
Leighton Denny Expert Nails in Pillow Talk full-size $19 USD
This shade appears red or dark pink but in reality it is more sheer and brighter than in the picture. I haven’t used it so I can’t say much about the formula but $19 is pretty steep for a polish.
Tidbit: To avoid getting polish on the cuticle, place the brush on the nail about 3mm away from the cuticle and push backward toward it stopping just before the skin. After, make the usual stroke toward the tip.
Not Your Mother’s Haircare Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray in deluxe size $3 USD
This was already a favorite of mine. As long as you apply evenly and not too much, you can create the perfect beach waves. Work well on fine/thin hair.
Tidbit: Kelp, a large seaweed plant, is known to contain many of the nutrients that promote and sustain hair growth. It has a variety of vitamins including A, B1, B2, and C which serve to strengthen the hair shaft.
Studio 10 Brow Lift Perfecting Liner in full-size $20 USD
The pigment on this was a little disappointing and I wouldn’t really call it universal as the highlighter matched my skin to perfectly to enhance anything.
Tidbit: For every pencil sold, Studio 10 donates 100% of its profits to Look Good Feel Better, a charity which supports women with cancer, making a difference one brow at a time.
Biossance the Nourisher, Precious Rose Face Oil in 0.14 oz. Full-size $72 for 1 oz.
I like this facial oil but not enough to pay that much. I also haven’t been using it very long to get the full benefits so maybe it’s a miracle and my opinion will change.
Tidbit: This oil-soluble form of vitamin C acts and an antioxidant, delivering the pure benefits of vitamin C 50 times better than it’s not so distant cousin, ascorbic acid.
Overall I really liked this month’s box and would rate it a 7/10.
